Fake-or-not-fake story about how a director is going to give birth to Fyodor Dostoevsky.

I, the director Kota Davudova, want to give birth to Fyodor Mikhailovich Dostoevsky.

I have always liked Dostoevsky and wanted to be closer to him. He is dead, but children are being born, new people, and I would very much like his immortal soul to pass to my child when he is born.

The questions that arise here:
-is it possible to want to give birth to Dostoevsky
-how to achieve this
-what Dostoevsky means to us, how much he is flesh and blood
-who is Dostoevsky
-how to understand that the very Dostoevsky was born
-if anything, can Dostoevsky be adopted
-femoptics: household labor, reproductive labor
-geniuses and their mothers
-common people and their mothers
-me and my mom
-do we want to be happy or do we want to be ourselves
-what if triplets are born?

It's important for me to find this story through a male actor-coauthor, to discuss the space of expectations of family, male/female and children/parents patterns.

This will be a very personal, very intimate play about all the above questions, and maybe, also staging this play will help me give birth to Dostoevsky.

Why market near Bitef? Why headset?
It's interesting for me to make this research not in the walls of theatre, but theatrelize the reality itself with real characters of real market. What are the expectations of my parents, waiting for me to become successful? Where is the border between their voice inside of me that I hear in my ears every day - and my actual path?

It will be held with help of actors and the headsets for audience, at the market near Bitef theatre.

Don Juan

The performance will be based on a well-known legend about Don Juan, involving all the cultural plots: from Molière to Fellini and Puskin.

The actors (all of them Don Juans from different stories) are trying to live their life, have discussions about love and cheating, trying to understand what went wrong in their stories and to find an exit.

My direction method in this case is to create scenario out of various characters, to let them live and create their own scenario at once.

I also see it being filmed in a moment, projecting the video of live performance either on the web site or at the stage.

I m really interested into a deep talk about romance relationships between people, phenomena of codependency and attachment, processes of falling in love and passion, of betrayal and forgiveness. And what is the essence that we call love.
